Update on my D&C Recovery

So yesterday I wrote about my blighted ovum experience here.

Today marks my first full day of recovery, and holy shit did I wake up in pain.  First off, I stayed with my mom and baby sister in their apartment yesterday and most of today.  I slept on the couch as I didn't want to displace them from their rooms.  I have a love hate relationship with this couch.  I love to lounge on it, I hate to sleep on it.  It was my bed for the last 6 months of living in Washington before we moved back down here.

But I digress.  This morning when I woke up I thought I had pooh cramps, turns out it was my uterus rebelling against me.  I felt like knives were be slowly dragged across the flesh of my uterus.  I took one pain pill around 8 am (I thought the bottle said 1 every 4 hours for my vicodine).  It barely touched it.  I was doubled over in pain.  I threw up a few times.  Then I laid down in my mom's room for an hour to ease the pain.  That seemed to help.

Then I woke up again writhing in pain.  I took another pain pill then sat on the couch hunched over, trying not to puke.  My mom left and went to borrow my Grandma's heating pad to help with the horrendous pain.  After an hour of having the heating pad on me, the second vicodine FINALLY kicked in.

I was warm and fuzzy and pain free.
And still am 8 hours later.

I'm probably going to take another one before I go to bed tonight, so I can get a full nights sleep - finally.

Today the unthinkable happened...

Well it wasn't TOTALLY unthinkable, I just wasn't prepared for it to happen today.
Lennon was bit by our corgi this afternoon.  It was a BAD bite.  I looked away for a moment, and turned to see Lennon screaming on the ground and Emma (our corgi) on Lennon's chest.  I rushed to pick Lennon up and blood was pouring down her face.  She was screaming.  I started screaming (probably not the brightest move on my part, but all rational thinking went out the window at that point).  My sister woke up and (rationally) decided we needed to get to the hospital PRONTO!  We got there within 15 minutes (usually a 30 minute drive with the Sunday afternoon traffic heading back into Phoenix).  5 hours were spent at the hospital.  Lennon was sedated (the worst thing I've ever had to witness thus far to my princess) after having her veins blown up 4 times.  While sedated the Peds ER Plastic Surgeon - Dr. Pritchard - proceeded to stitch up Leni's face.  8 open wounds were stitched up.  He was super cocky but to me that means he knows his stuff.  The worst of the wounds, right - I mean RIGHT - next to her left eye was stitched up first.  He told me because she was so cute he didn't want her to be scarred... at all.  I am so grateful for the staff at Mendy's Place at John C. Lincoln Hospital, they were so nice and caring and explained everything to me as it was going on or going to happen.  I almost had an anxiety attack watching them clean her wounds (before the sedative had taken effect).  Anyways, I am going to try and stop thinking about it for the night so I can relax and get some sleep... here are some (graphic) pictures of the incident!
